Defiance River Outfitters’ day rental program makes accessing our local rivers a breeze. Choose to Roll & Go from our Rental HQ. Or take advantage of a complimentary shuttle to Grizzly Creek in Glenwood Canyon and conveniently take out where you parked your vehicle. Every day rental includes paddles, PFDs, and helmets.
Inflatable Kayaks
It’s hard not to smile when you’re tooling around in an inflatable kayak. We’d love to be your Glenwood Springs kayak rental choice. Defiance River Outfitters uses the same kayak for its rental and commercial fleets. And for good reason. They are incredibly stable and forgiving without sacrificing the fun factor. Use it for an extended day on the Roaring Fork or Upper Colorado, or bomb down Glenwood Canyon on the Lower Colorado into Glenwood Springs for a quick balance of whitewater and scenic float. Comes with a paddle, helmet, and PFD.

Enjoy a solo day on the Colorado River or tag along with rafting pals on an NRS Thrive stand-up paddleboard. It’s a versatile, stable board that works from the newb to the experienced. Comes with a paddle, carrying bag, hand pump, and leash.

10’8” NRS Judko SUP
A board for the do-it-all paddler, NRS’s Jukdo SUPs are equally adept at touring, fitness paddling, and light river running, with the stability to help any novice feel at ease. The 10.8 board is recommended for paddlers between 150 and 250 lbs. A paddle, breakaway leash, high-pressure hand pump, and PFD are included. *An electric high-pressure pump that hooks up to a car battery is available to rent for a small fee.
16’ Self-Bailing Raft
Looking for a raft rental in Glenwood Springs? Spend a day on the river with Defiance’s Daytripper Package – the ideal day-use raft rental package. We use the NRS 16’ Self-Bailing Raft as our primary rental rig. It’s big. Incredibly forgiving. And does a good job of getting you wet (if you want to). Think of the 16’ as grandpa’s old Buick - comfortable, understated, and roomy. A stern frame with oars is available as an add-on option. Every Daytripper Package includes paddles, PFDs, and a basic medical and repair kit. Choose to Roll & Go or take advantage of our complimentary local shuttle for up to eight people and put in at Grizzly Creek in Glenwood Canyon.
